The Bower is an off-grid Hunter Valley cabin, built for two on a 150-acre farm near Wollombi. Solar-powered and self-sufficient, it runs on sunshine and quiet. It's the kind of place where the biggest decision of the day is whether to light the fire pit before or after dinner.
Inside, it's warm and simple: a queen bedroom, an open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a dressing room with a full-length mirror, and a reading nook by the smart TV for slow afternoons. Step out onto the covered deck and the BBQ, the outdoor dining and the firepit are all yours, with firewood already stacked and waiting.
Fifteen minutes from historic Wollombi, twenty from Broke's award-winning wineries, and thirty-five from Pokolbin's concerts, cellar doors and gourmet food. It's close enough to explore, far enough to properly switch off.

Annie is the heart behind Hunter Valley Hideaway. She lives an off-grid life on the property, at the same gentle pace she hopes her guests will settle into. Her days are shaped by the land, tending the garden, baking the bread guests find waiting for them, and keeping an eye on Fergus and Hamish, the two highland cows who've become the property's most photographed residents.
When she isn't hosting, Annie is cooking, travelling, or spoiling her grandchildren. It's the same care she brings to the cabins: the small touches and quiet thought that guests notice the moment they arrive, and remember long after they've gone.
